A seminar for German and international students during the semester

Writing papers and essays is part of everyday life for university students. Students from other countries bring with them forms of academic writing from their own learning and academic cultures

Often these differ from forms of writing at German universities.

In this seminar we will introduce and practice the necessary techniques for producing an academic text. We will answer the following questions: How do I find a suitable topic? How do I research the topic properly? What are some helpful reading strategies? How do I approach an unfamiliar text? How do I structure my text? How can I express my thoughts in written form? How do I cite correctly?

How do I revise my text?

We will deal with these issues step-by-step in a practical manner by working closely with various texts.
