Workshop for (academic) staff at TU Darmstadt

Nowadays, spending time abroad while working at a university is one of the qualifications expected of researchers. This workshop will sensitise participants to other cultures and prepare them specifically for their exchange in order to make their visit abroad a success. Using theory and practical examples, selected content is developed and strengthened. Participants are given the opportunity to plan their time abroad specifically with expert guidance. Questions that are discussed in the workshop include: What is culture? What are inter-cultural skills and how do we act accordingly? What differences exist in perception and in the sense of values? How are culture and communication connected? What are the participant's specific professional objectives for their time abroad? How do we behave in foreign cultures?
