News and announcements and information/dates in time of the pandemic

Overall Concept

Our Studienkolleg for international students/ Academic Bridging Courses supports international students with the commencement of a degree programme at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and in Germany. For this purpose, we provide programmes and courses in preparation for academic studies in terms of language and content, in particular, however, also in terms of methodology. Find out more about this in our Overall Concept .

For 60 years the Studienkolleg has been supporting international students in their entry into higher education. The current magazine hoch3 (opens in new tab) reports in detail.

Courses offered

T courses and G courses

Depending on your higher education entrance qualification, taking the Feststellungsprüfung is compulsory if you want to begin degree studies in Germany. Feststellungsprüfung T gives access to technical, scientific (not Biology) and mathematical courses; Feststellungsprüfung G to History, German and the social sciences. Preparation for the Feststellungsprüfung is usually provided by T courses and G courses .

Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH)

If you gained your higher education entrance qualification in a non-German-speaking country, you must usually gain and document appropriate German skills before beginning degree studies. You can do this by attending our DSH courses and taking the DSH examination , for example.

Key Qualifications

We offer courses in Key Qualifications here. The courses are free for registered students of Technische Universität Darmstadt.

Student status

To participate in our introductory and preparatory courses, you must have been accepted by the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da), Hochschule RheinMain/ RheinMain University of Applied Sciences/ Wiesbaden Rüsselsheim, Hochschule Geisenheim University or Evangelischen Hochschule Darmstadt (EHD). You must therefore apply to one of these universities for our T and G courses – not directly to us. You will then be enrolled as an official student of our universities. Participation in the DSH and StepIn courses also requires enrolment – in these cases always at Technische Universität Darmstadt. However, you should first contact us in these cases. Courses in 'Inter-cultural Skills' and 'Key Qualifications' are free for students and staff of Technische Universität Darmstadt and are also open to others.
