Chemistry

Chemistry is taught in four lessons per week. Because a T course is preparation not only for degree studies in Chemistry, but for all technical and scientific subjects, the focus of classes in Chemistry is not only on specialist knowledge, but in particular on learning to work independently. Scientific working methods are presented and practised, from which students will learn

  • to recognise problems and develop solutions
  • to work in a team with others
  • to use the specialist language correctly.

The classes include an introduction to the most important subject areas in general, inorganic and physical chemistry, such as

  • stoichiometry and gas laws
  • atomic models
  • chemical bonding
  • chemical equilibrium
  • acid-base theories, pH value calculations
  • electrochemistry
